General Conditions

Anyone who is 18 years old and above may join Romancering.  Membership is absolutely free, without any financial requirements whatsoever.  In order to become a Member, you simply have to fill out the required registration form.  As a potential Member, you agree to provide only accurate and complete information as required in the registration form.  As a Member, you are expected to uphold the same requirements.  Furthermore, a Member is tasked with maintaining and keeping his or her profile information as up to date as possible.  It does not fall under the Service’s responsibilities to check the accuracy and timeliness of a Member’s information.  At any point in time, the Service has the right to terminate this Agreement if a Member’s profile is proven to display false, inaccurate, or incomplete information.

Either the Owner of the Service or a Member may initiate the termination of this Agreement.  Termination of the Agreement is considered effective as soon as either party sends a written notification of the intent.  If a Member initiates the termination of the Agreement and sends a written notice, his membership is automatically revoked without any further obligation, financial or otherwise, from both parties.  If a Member is found to have violated any part of this Agreement or any other terms and conditions as stated in the web site, the Owner reserves the right to suspend or terminate the Member’s account without further notice, until the error or violation is rectified.

 Members agree to the following terms and conditions:

 The Service is to be used only in a legally accepted manner.  All laws and regulations which are applicable are to be followed.

All Members are required to respect and adhere to the e-mail and communication policies of the Service, including the terms and conditions stated in the web site.  Any form of communication that may be considered spam is not tolerated.  This includes, but is not limited to, chain letters, junk mail, and advertisements.

Romancering respects the laws of intellectual property.  As such, any Member is not allowed to post any content on the web site which violates the laws of copyright.  Such content may come in the form of pictures, text, music, and videos.  However, if the Member has obtained the copy right owner’s express permission through writing, he will be allowed to make use of that specific material in his profile.

Once a Member posts any type of content on the web site, it is taken for granted that he is granting express permission to the Owner and fellow Members, for them to use such content.  The permission granted applies to any part of the world and is non-exclusive.

All activities that a Member engages in through Romancering are his sole responsibility.  The Service is available for free but the Owner is removed from any responsibility regarding any risk the Member may take.  The Owner of the Service, along with the staff, are not to be held responsible for any harm, damage, or offense that may arise from a Member’s use of the Service.  This includes, but is not limited to, emotional, physical, or verbal abuse.

Romancering is for adults only.  However, we do require that all interaction accessible to the general public must abide by certain rules of decency.  The Service will not tolerate any content, in any form, which may be considered defamatory, slanderous, offensive, inaccurate, abusive, profane, obscene, sexually offensive, harassing, threatening, racially discriminatory, or illegal.  The Owner has the right to delete such content without any permission from the Member.

The Service was created as a venue for people to meet others online.  It is meant to be used for personal purposes only.  As such, commercial intentions and activities are not allowed on the web site.

Personal contact information should not be displayed on the web site.  This applies to your own personal contact information and to other people’s contact information.  If the Owner sees such information being displayed, he has the right to delete it or suspend a Member’s account until the violation has been rectified.

The Owners of the Service are committed to doing their best to keep the web site free from offensive material yet from time to time hackers and other Members may violate our policies.  As such, you may be involuntarily exposed to such content.  Rest assured that we will continuously monitor the content so as to avoid such incidents.  Do bear in mind that you are responsible for whatever information you post on the web site and any repercussions arising from it.
