If you invite a girl or a woman somewhere, be prepared to pay for her everywhere, everything, every time. It’s a pleasurable act to pay for everything during your date. So save up!
Men in Russia will always shake their hands (or at least offer a wrist if a hand is dirty, wet or otherwise unavailable) when they meet their dates. This is a normal gesture for Russians since they also do this when greeting people for the first time during the day.
It is a tradition in Russia for men to offer flowers to women on nearly every occasion. But you have to take note that only an odd number of blossoms can be given. Perhaps you are asking now why. It is because of the fact that giving an even number of flowers is a taboo in Russia since even numbers are brought to funerals.
If you want to bring your lady to a bar for a drink, it is best to always propose some kind of toast when drinking. Make sure that your glass should not touch the table from the time a toast was proposed up to the time you drink. Your glass should remain on the table while it is being refilled.
Leaving a bit of food at the end of the meal shows a sense of appreciation to your date. It is improper to look at your date’s saucer or plate. Also avoid elbows on the table and creating unpleasant noises. And please do avoid cutting food that are already in small chunks. Don’t talk while eating!
You should, in general, avoid being overly ceremonial because it will just result to a boring and uninteresting date. Always make eye contact while conversing. Talking to body parts will make the person feel objectified. It is impolite to point with your finger. But if you must point, it's better to use your entire hand instead of your finger. You must provide a feeling of warmth and relaxation, and at the same time, hooking up a fruitful conversation.
